Ashland’s location between the nation’s capital and the state capital makes ýapp the prime position to start a career. RMC students have recently interned at Fortune 500 companies like CarMax and Dominion Energy, in legislative offices, and places like Maymont Park and the Science Museum of Virginia.

The Richmond region is chock full of premier concert venues, world-class museums, and cultural festivals. Closer to home, the historic Ashland Theatre maintains a full calendar of movies, music, and performing arts, complementing the street festivals and live music that make Ashland come alive throughout the year.

Some of the best bike routes in the country run through Ashland, while a few miles south, the James River Park System features 600 acres of rocks, rapids, forests, and trails, all in the heart of the city. History
From Ashland’s origins as a railroad town – railroad tracks still run through downtown and past campus, attracting railfans from all over to the town – to central Virginia’s crucial role in the foundational moments of our nation, history is all around you at ýapp. Three buildings on campus are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
