safety is a shared responsibility

Our dedicated 24/7 campus safety officers, law enforcement partners in the town of Ashland, and our campus community all play a part in making our campus safe. It starts with being prepared, and looking out for each other. 

Campus Safety officers patrol 果冻传媒app 7 days a week, and are available for emergencies 24/7, 365 days a year. 果冻传媒app has a low rate of personal property crime and personal safety incidents, in part thanks to our officers and their proactive approach. 

Emergency call boxes are located in each residence hall and in academic areas of campus; they connect immediately to the Office of Campus Safety.

Campus Text Alerts

All members of the campus community should enroll themselves in emergency alerts. These alerts are sent via text message in the event of dangerous weather, fire, or other threats to the campus.

Residence Hall Security

Our Residence Halls are protected by a sophisticated access control system. Exterior doors are locked 24 hours a day. Students gain entry by using their smart cards. 

To help ensure the safety of residence halls, students should:

• Always keep your smart card with you. Report missing smart cards immediately to Campus Safety. 
• Keep doors and windows locked; never prop exterior doors!
• Do not allow others to piggy-back their way into residence hall doors. 
• Escort guests in the halls at all time. 
• On-call professional staff are available 24/7 to assist with urgent or emergency needs.

Overnight Guest Policy:

Overnight guests are allowed, but no more than two consecutive nights and not more than two, two-night periods within a 30-day period. The host student of an overnight guest must obtain permission from their roommate before the guest鈥檚 arrival.

All non-RMC overnight guests must be registered with Campus Safety. Overnight guests are not allowed when residence halls are closed or during exam week (for students and non-students).

Policies and Reporting

• The Daily Crime and Fire Log Report can be viewed at the Office of Campus Safety. A request for the Daily Crime and Fire Log Report can be made during normal business hours and a copy of the report will be made available within 48 hours.
• The Clery Report provides comprehensive crime statistics.
